As the last leg of the 2025 tour will take place in Canet-en-Roussillon, let’s dive in Canet’s natation club: Canet 66 Natation.
Since the club’s creation, Canet 66 Natation adds up more than 80 National Champion titles, 3 European Champion titles, 2 World Champion titles and 7 Olympic selections. The club welcomes every type of public, from swimming lessons to high-level swimmers, including health sport, leisure sport, fitness or even swimming careers training.
In 1992, Canet 66 Natation joins Barcelona and creates the Mediterranean Grand Prix. With Monaco adding up in 1994, the Mare Nostrum swim tour was born.
The club takes full advantage of Europa sport complex, in Arlette Franco Natation Center where the Olympic pool welcomed its first international meeting in 1988, the same year of its creation.
Among the swimmers who participated in the competition in Canet-en-Roussillon we can name some of the big names in the discipline such as Alexander Popov, Mark Spitz, Nathan Adrian, Katinka Hosszu, Laure Manaudou, Florent Manaudou, Charlotte Bonnet, Sarah Sjostrom, Ian Thorpe, Peter Van den Hoogenband, Janet Evans, Alain Bernard, Yannick Agnel and more…
